My Honda Accord was a good car. It was paid for, it got good mileage and WAS reliable. Unfortunately, it has recently died. It was a slow lingering death that started with the starter. Things are finally back to normal here. I got my car back from the shop yesterday and everything else is working as well as before the storm. YAY!

I checked out the beach a little while ago. The waves are definitely getting big and there is some minor street flooding in low areas from storm surge.

It's looking as though Ike is heading our way. The mayor called for a mandatory evacuation of Galveston this morning, but ZZ and I are staying put. We have enough food to last a few days, and we just stocked up on sodas from one of the few remaining open convenience stores. We are set for the storm as well as can be I think. Thanks to everyone for being so concerned. It was pretty scary for a while when I lost feeling in my left arm. My blood pressure got to 220 over 135, so it was pretty bad for a while there. The doctors never could explain the numbness, but it is starting to feel better now. I am also feeling much better today. I will try to be a good kitty from now ( Read more... )
