I had a hard time thinking of a character, but in the end I chose James Sunderland. The fact that you'd want to atone for your sins, really stood out to me. I never got the feeling that Angela and Eddie wanted to atone for their sins (or I should say, they didn't want to overcome their own darkness.) Laura probably didn't realize she had any darkness in her, and Maria and Pyramid Head are constructs of the town itself.

You're definitely a difficult one to vote on for this theme. By narrowing it down, I came to a James Sunderland conclusion as well. The game allows you to interpret him in different ways but the one thing that tends to stay constant is, like the previous voter mentioned, his desire to atone for his sins and his anger. I think it's mentioned (or implied at least) once that James is often very quiet and a keep-to-himself-er, can come off as a little intimidating at times. I don't think he's someone who lashes out often and infact tries not to. In spite of how annoying Laura was or how crazy Eddie was, he never picked a fight, even when he was irritated. With Eddie, he didn't seem to want to fight him, but only did so because it was in self-defense ( ... )

I was torn between James and Angela, actually, but I am going to have to agree that James Sunderland is the better choice for you. The fact that you talk about how killing Mary was wrong but you can empathize with what James went through stood out to me, as well as the fact that you thought killing Eddie was the right choice (in terms of self-defense) and killing Laura would have been the wrong choice.

Since you identified Pyramid Head as being the character you least considered yourself like, it made a lot of sense to me that you were more of a James type. James is more level-headed and I don't see him as a really relentless person, unlike Pyramid Head. It seems like you would be someone who was far more calm, and I actually see James as a fairly calm person.

Plus, you would seek redemption, which to me eliminated a lot of the Angela vibe I had.

James Sunderland. I admit part of it is because I can't see any one trait you have that is outright nothing like him. You don't have Maria's self-assured sex-oozing-ness, you're more reserved than Laura, you seem worlds more stable than Angela or Eddie. James... obviously, he's not completely stable, but he's aware of his flaws, and he's not proud of them. All of that aside, he seems calm and down-to-earth, and thoughtful if occasionally reckless. You definitely aren't reckless, but then again, agreeing with kilobites, he doesn't seem relentless in the way Pyramid Head is, but he is pretty strong-willed. You certainly seem to have a lot of conviction.

if someone really, really does something to get under my skin... I wind up feeling positively bloodthirsty.

Channeling some major James here. Heh. I mean, you're definitely more stable than anyone else in the game but I can't really sense Laura. Some of your answers do scream James to me, though, but it's not a perfect fit.
