I helped deliver a baby for the first time yesterday!!! He was sooo cute, had full black hair and already smiling!! -
Interesting hem/onc case
I did another journal club presentation with last minute notice (1 day!) for one of our three attendings' annual Christmas party/journal meeting yesterday. It made for a long day because we also had med ed day, so basically the entire day was 5am-830pm (finally got home close to 9pm). As a result, I was so exhausted today. Thanksgiving in internal medicine
Sickness never pauses. Lymphoma may be painless, but it is still taking up space, moving matter. So here I begin my week in IM by working through Thanksgiving, still waking up at 4am and hoping to get home by 8pm. Already I'm done with another rotation, this one Psych! I'm sad to leave. another entry in my cadaver lab diary
So we walked in on the first day of lab this quarter, and the bodies are all gone, except for the head and neck. Imagine a halloween shop where there are head masks on tables. Can you picture it? There are some with oozing head wounds and some with eyes open, but the eyes are sunken. All heads are shaven but there are some with beards, blond ( Read more... ) -
It beats
Last week we opened up the chest wall and dissected out the lungs. The left lung, the only one that was still intact in our body, both fit well with my mental model of it, and yet was new and unfamiliar. The texture and weight were unexpected.
