hello old friend.
i have had this journal since i was 19 years old.
i will be 29 in 10 months.
its amazing HOW much has changed,
but even more amazing how much has stayed the same.
(i do mostly friends only now, easier to control the fallout that way)

I wish I would have continued writing in my diaryland journal, specifically the one I started my senior year.

I wish I would have known how much I'd ache to read it. Probably while giggling, cringing, and crying.

Damn.

i used to have a file with all of my entries from my diaryland journal. lost it a few harddrives ago. boooo on that. this one is scary enough, ten years later and i don't even know who the girl that wrote some of this stuff is/was.

i'm personally very thankful for my journal after all these (7-8) years. i know who i was better by reading my old entries than i do by relying exclusively on my memories.

sure i can remember that something happened, but its harder to remember how i felt about it at that time and in that context. my memories are now colored by my current life outlook and feelings.

i'm glad that i'm not the me of 2003. change is good in this case, but it's nice that i can change without having to permanently lose myself in the process.

by the way, we should be LJ friends! it's definitely a step up from facebook friends.
