Title: Together
Author: shurifanstuffs
Fandom & Pairing Power Rangers S.P.D., Bridge/Sky
Prompt: #12 Anniversary
Rating: NC-17
Summary: Post-series utterly mindless Bridge/Sky fluff and smut. Bridge and Sky celebrate their one-year anniversary.
Notes: Assumes basic knowledge of S.P.D. characters. Tessie is an OC I created for another epic; this fic is in a different universe, however. This fic takes place in the same universe as Tested, Compatability, Impressions and Grief and makes a few references to events in them, but can stand on its own as well.

It was coming up on Bridge and Sky's one-year anniversary, and all Bridge could think about was all the ways that celebrating it could potentially go wrong.

After all, any other time they'd tried to acknowledge a milestone in their relationship, they'd been prevented somehow.

At one month, both of them had wanted to do something for it; it was significant because Bridge and Sky were not sure themselves that their relationship would last even that long. Both of them did not realize that they had forgotten the date until it had long passed; however, that was not any of their faults. After all, that was soon after their S.W.A.T. training and the argument that had nearly ended their relationship for good before it even truly started, so they needed time to rebuild, reconnect, and rediscover why they loved one another in the first place.

They decided to try again at three months, but were blocked that time by Gruumm's invasion of Earth happening. By the time everything had settled back to normal, it was close to their four-month anniversary, and Sky was so busy with his new responsibilities as the Red Ranger that he was not up for doing anything beyond going out for pizza whenever they had a free hour or two.

Six months happened too close to a different anniversary- that of Sky's father's death, thus wrecking any celebratory mood on his part.

Finally, as one year approached, Bridge began to bring up the issue with him again, both subtly and not. Large-scale alien invasions weren't likely to happen this time, as Gruumm and Broodwing had long since been captured. No other sad anniversaries were likely to intrude. It seemed as though everything was ripe to fall into place... except, Bridge noticed, they had one conversation about it, then Sky seemed to drop the subject entirely. Every time he tried to bring it up, Sky mumbled something about how he needed time to think about it and blew him off, which rather hurt Bridge, as his boyfriend had seemed excited about it the one time they had talked. But, he realized with a small tinge of regret, it wasn't likely to be anything grand, anyway; though Sky had been a changed man from the one he'd first begun to date, making a big deal out of their anniversary wasn't really his style. Still, he hoped one year would have been different...

As the date came ever closer, however, Bridge began to sense that something was up. All of his friends' lips were sealed when he was around them, but he caught his boyfriend in conference with Syd, Z, and Tessie, their newest team member, all three girls giggling and nudging each other and Sky seeming very red. They scattered when they saw him coming, but he could guess what they had been discussing, and decided to hold off on the plans he was formulating in his own mind (and ways to make Sky go along with them) and wait and see what happened.

The morning of, Bridge awoke to find himself alone in their shared bunk. Biting back his disappointment that Sky didn't even linger for a morning cuddle and kiss, he rolled out of bed, rubbed his eyes, and went to shower and get ready for the day. When he came back, the room was still empty... except now, there was a wrapped package sitting on his computer desk. Grinning, he went over to it to find a note attached reading Your obligatory geek gift. Love, Sky and tore it open to find a box containing what was labeled as a "computer defense system", consisting of a launcher that fired foam rockets that plugged into his computer. Grinning, Bridge set it aside, then noticed another note taped to his monitor in Sky's handwriting.

Go about your day and do your duties like normal. I won't be around, but I'll come for you when it's time. Don't worry, I've taken care of everything.

Heart pounding, Bridge went to get dressed and tried to do what he was told, but it was hard to concentrate now. It didn't help that Z, Syd and Tessie kept shooting him looks as he did his data entry for the day, turning away and tittering amongst themselves whenever he looked back at them. Bridge's mind kept wandering away from his monotonous tasks even moreso than normal, trying to imagine what Sky had cooked up for him... especially because this was far more than he had been expecting already.

"I know something you don't know," Syd finally sang, coming up behind Bridge and giving him a hug.

"Everyone seems to," said Bridge, rubbing his head and turning to look at her when she let go. "What've you guys been up to?"

"We've been helpin' your boyfriend learn how to be romantic," said Tessie as she came up on his other side. "So, if anythin' goes wrong you can blame us."

"Aww, I wouldn't do that," Bridge said. "I'm sure it'll be fine. Sky's an awesome guy."

"Yup," said Z as she too walked up to him, patting his back and winking. "Especially because he knows when he's out of his element and needs help to do things right. ... Don't take this the wrong way, but I can't believe you guys have been together been this long already."

"Neither can I," Bridge admitted.

"I think it's about time," said Tessie, checking her watch. "Sky told us to send you off t'your room around now, and he'll take care of the rest." Bridge practically leapt from his seat.

"Good luck and have fun!" Syd called, and he waved back at the girls as he walked rapidly off to his dorm room. However... it was still empty. Feeling unable to sit still with anticipation now, Bridge paced the room, sat down on Sky's bunk, got up and paced some more, then sank into his computer chair. Right then, the door opened, and before Bridge could spin around or react, he felt strong arms bearing down on his shoulders, a soft kiss on the back of his neck, and a voice whispering in his ear,

"I've got a surprise for you. Go on and get dressed in something nice. Meet me down in the parking garage as soon as you're ready." As soon as Sky released him, Bridge leapt up to- well, he wasn't sure exactly what. Kiss him, hug him, jump him... but Sky was already gone, and all Bridge saw was a glimpse of his back before the doors slid shut again. Now having to hold himself back from physically bouncing up and down, Bridge dug into his closet. He thought his dress uniform was a bit much for the occasion, so he chose pants, a nice blue shirt and a blue and green-striped tie from his civilian wardrobe and went to meet Sky, feeling as though he were floating on air instead of walking. He found Sky waiting in front of the Delta Cruiser, dressed similarly. He had a huge smile on his face, the kind of affectionate, loving smile Bridge usually only saw when they were alone together. He was also blushing slightly.

"Happy anniversary," Bridge said, and the two embraced, sharing a brief kiss before climbing into the vehicle and driving off.

The "surprise" turned out to be the night off, a nice dinner, and a hotel room at a cute place out on the edge of Newtech City. After they'd eaten and settled into their room, Sky told Bridge he wanted to cuddle, so they both climbed onto the sizeable bed and lay next to each other, holding hands, saying nothing, just enjoying one anothers' company.

"This was so sweet of you," Bridge finally said. "I knew you could be romantic- in your own typically Sky way- but not like this."

"...Yeah. I know you probably weren't expecting much," Sky mumbled, his face tinged with red. "I had no idea what to do, so I went to the girls for help, as they probably told you. They suggested that we just have a date- a real one- since we never seem to have time to."

"Mmhmm." Another long, peaceful silence before Bridge said softly, "Our anniversary... one year since we've gotten together."

"It's been a long time, yeah. Longer than I think anyone thought we'd stay together. Both of us have come so far, changed so much since then," said Sky. "We've come even further since the day we met each other when we first came to S.P.D." Bridge laughed.

"I remember our D-Squad days pretty well. We were so awkward back then. I thought I was just a tag-along to you... then remember when you got kidnapped?"

"How could I forget that?" Sky asked, wincing. "Then you disobeyed Cruger and Officer Flendon, came to find me, almost got killed, and ended up cleaning the Zords for your punishment chore. And you told me afterward that you did it because I was one of the first real friends you'd ever had, and that you were used to people not liking you." Sky squeezed the hand he was holding tightly.

"It was the truth. But then I came to S.P.D. and found you," Bridge said, moving in closer, nuzzling Sky's neck. "And never let go."

"No matter how big an arrogant jerkoff I was," Sky agreed, a hint of bitterness in his voice. "And no matter how many times I tried to push you away, or whatever else happened to you." Bridge noticed that both of them had been tenderly dancing around bringing up a certain person from their past, and he figured he wasn't going to be the one to mention that person; instead he said,

"You grew up and grew out of it. And you put up with my rambling. And the fact that I crumbled so well under pressure and couldn't stand up to anybody and didn't find the courage to tell you I had a crush on you until..."

"...until after he came back," Sky finished, and Bridge tensed. "He was right... I WAS a fool. I still trusted him and believed I could save him. I hated myself for so long for NOT being able to do that, and because I was too stupid to realize that someone better had been there all along."

"You had to find yourself first," said Bridge. "I understand that. No matter what happened, he was your best friend, too- nobody was going to deny you the right to mourn and try and come to terms with what happened. I needed time to figure out where I stood and realize I was stronger than I gave myself credit for, too. And I would have waited for you, no matter how long it took." Sky returned his smile.

"I know. And I could spend so much time living in the past, but it's happened, it's gone, I learned from it, and... damnit, I love you. That's all that matters right now." Sky finally took Bridge into his arms; a silly little smile on his face, filled with the warm glow of love for his boyfriend, Bridge felt completely at peace.

Bridge didn't realize he'd fallen asleep until he felt shivers going down his spine from Sky's fingers running up and down his sides. He was facing the other wall now, and Sky pulled him as close as he could, fiercely kissed the back of his neck, let his hot breath run over Bridge's ear before there was a signal- the tiniest nip of the earlobe.

"Mmmm," Bridge sighed happily, only too willing to oblige. He found himself thinking it would be nice to actually have sex on a huge bed with plenty of room to manuver; usually doing such things in the confines of their dorm room could get a bit uncomfortable. Then he chastened himself for those thoughts, turning his attention to more important matters- like the fact that Sky was tugging insistently at his tie, unbuttoning the top few buttons of his shirt. "Alright, give me a second," Bridge teased. "Jeez, you're so impatient." He rolled onto his back, quickly undoing his tie and shirt, sitting up to toss them off. Sky's own shirt joined it a second later- followed by the rest of their clothing, bit by bit, everything except for Bridge's gloves- which would come last.

Sky grinned and pulled Bridge close again, and the two allowed their hands to roam across one anothers' naked bodies before Sky twined his fingers in Bridge's hair, leaning in for another kiss, this one filled with passion, tongue flicking into his mouth. He made a nondescript grunting noise in response and wrapped his arms tightly around Sky's body, the two rubbing together almost impulsively as they made out, friction, grinding, willing each other to come to life.

"Sky..." Bridge moaned.

"What do you want?" Sky asked against his mouth. "Tell me... I'll give you anything..." Bridge moaned again, closing his eyes briefly, considering...

"Fuck me," he whispered. "Please... It's been so long since I've had you inside me..." Sky left Bridge's mouth in response, planting a trail of kisses up and down the left side of his face, then moving further down, his lips caressing Bridge's bare flesh. Bridge cried out when he gently teased the head of his cock with his tongue, but before he could say anything more, Sky had lifted his legs, begun to lick at Bridge's opening, willing him to open up, to allow Sky inside. "Oh, Sky..." Bridge then found himself somewhat-roughly turned on his side. There was only a brief pause as Sky got up to grab what he needed and prepared himself, then slowly, carefully slid inside Bridge.

There were no more words now. None were needed. Bridge took off his gloves, his senses now flooded with physical and emotional sensations from the both of them, heightening his own pleasure a hundredfold- Sky breathing steadily on the back of his neck as he slowly, gently slid in and out of him, one hand playing with Bridge's cock as he did so, Bridge loving the sensation of Sky being inside him, bodies pressing together, sweat, passion, love...

Bridge's held-back breath came out in a long sigh as his orgasm hit and he came- but Sky didn't withdraw when he was done. Instead, he put his arms around Bridge again, resting his chin on his boyfriend's shoulder, and Bridge closed his eyes, filled with ecstacy as Sky continued to fill him, cuddling in the afterglow of the sex...

He didn't know how much time passed before he felt Sky moving again, pulling out, and Bridge's own cock coming to life a second time as Sky turned Bridge over on his back, straddling him, mouth working on his nipples then trailing down, swirling his head around the tip of Bridge's cock, then taking it in his mouth, slowly, sensually.

Bridge tilted his head back and closed his eyes, a huge grin on his face, only opening them to glance down and meet Sky's eyes, getting even hotter when he saw that his boyfriend was clearly enjoying himself, giving a needly little gasp when he saw Sky playing with himself as he blew Bridge- before he was gone once more, and Sky was moving back up, kissing him, seizing one of Bridge's hands and guiding it downward. Bridge understood, took Sky's still-erect cock in his hand and jerked him off. They kissed several more times as he did so, losing themselves in their lust, their desire.

When Sky finally came, Bridge felt ready to collapse from exhaustion- but it was the most blissful exhaustion he'd ever felt. They paused to clean up a little bit before going to sleep for the night, naked, in each others' arms, Bridge's mind still full of their love for one another.

Happy anniversary, Sky, he thought. I hope this is just the first of many.
