Yesterday I got back from the inca trail and maccu piccu. The four days was definitely one of the highlights of my trip. In the group there were 16 of us, 6 irish, 2 canadians, 2 americans and 6 english. Just got back from Coroico, a little town in the jungas (a semitropical the jungle). The road to Coroico was incredible all the way it was next to a near vertical drop and was just about wide enough for a minibus, though there were quite a few buses and large trucks making the journey. I've just come back from a weekend visiting Lake Titicaca. The lake itself is beautiful and looks like the Mediterranean. I went to visit the Isla del Sol. The island has some old Tiwanku ruins but the highlight was really the scenery and the amazing peace. So have had a couple of eventful days. On monday I went to Tiahuanaco. The site itself was very impressive and I got totally carried away taking photos of random rocks. So its now the end of my first week in La Paz, I think I've recovered from whatever bug I had and feel much better, though I'm tired all the time probably due to the altitude. I've just got back from a BBQ at the house of an uncle with the family I'm staying with. It was very nice and we played a game similar to yatzee before we ate. The house ( Read more... )

So I've settled into life in La Paz now. I've had a bit of a sore stomach, I think it must be a bug I picked up in Sucre. Hopefully its all cleared up now, tonight will be the test.
