After almost a week and a half of living without any air conditioning, I will finally have air on Monday. It's good, because the heat is definitely starting to get to me. I almost passed out earlier today. Not good.

Finally, some good news. I went back to work yesterday (not the good news) and found out that my principal has selected me to be team leader this year. In teaching, it's pretty hard to get promoted to anything, so this is about as close as it gets. I have only been teaching two years, so I am pretty proud of the fact that I got this.

This is a journal. Yes, it is online for all to read, but it is still a journal ... a place for me to record my thoughts, feelings, and day-to-day happenings without any real persecution. I have been having a nice break from reality. My eight-year-old niece, Hailey, is visiting me from Texas. She is absolutely hilarious and so adorable. We went to Sea World yesterday, today we are going to Wet 'n Wild, and tomorrow we are going to Disney. What's also nice is that my mom is paying for all of it ( Read more... )

I feel like such a failure.

I was talking to my friend Jason online today and he told me that he and his wife are going to have a baby. He said that they were going to start trying in September, but it just sort of happened (I think it just sort of happens for most people). I'm totally happy for the two of them. I went to comment on someone's "myspace" picture, and it said "you must be someone's friend to make a comment" or something to that effect. It was quite sobering to read that. I am not this person's friend. No matter how much I want to be, no matter how much I think I should be because of the relationship we share ... I am simply not this person's ( Read more... )

A while ago, I posted some relevant lyrics from Switchfoot. I was listening to the radio today, and heard another song by Simple Plan that really mirrors what I have been feeling sometimes. I know the song was written about a drunk driving accident, but most of it still seems to apply.
