Got to spend some time with Dad and Melissa yesterday, which was good. =) Dad's foot is starting to look bad again, there's a smaller hole developing that bleeds. Of course his Dr is away on vacation right now, but it looks like they'll have to cut even more

have your dad ask about a wound vac to help heal it, if he has any kind of insurance at all. I am afraid that he is going to lose his whole foot. A wound vac is a neusance but it sucks away the drainage and pulls bloodflow to promote healing. Diabetics don't have good bloodflow and that is why they take forever to heal up. They work wonders :)

He uses a hydrating gel for it...I got to get him another tube when the nurse calls it in. I don't think he has any insurance.

then don't ask about the vac... they are expensive but they work miracles.

Is there any way he can go apply for medicade? He might get it since he cant realy go back to work.

Melissa said he could prob get that after he got disability. I dunno if he's applied for medicaid though.
