Author's note: Posting early again. This is a very short chapter, so I've decided to post Part 8 when I get back from work later, and the final part tomorrow.

Oh oh, now Giles wouldn't really be stupid enough to believe that things can go back to the way they were before, now can he?

Well, he has a pretty low opinion of Spike.

Oh, the things we justify to ourselves. I know he doesn't deserve it but I can't help a twinge of sympathy for Giles - he is so screwed up and so screwed. I hate to think how Spike's gonna react when he wakes up.

I'm glad he retained just a small amount of sympathy. I meant him to, in spite of everything.

*pets Spike*

*glares at Giles*

slept like the dead, eh? That can be arranged... *cackles*

Leaves Spike face down on the bathroom floor while he hoovers up Angel???

Goes to sleep?????

*kicks Giles until he's squished against the wall*

I'm not very optimistic here

Well, at least Spike survived the story, even if Giles never really did see the error of his ways.

Just as I softened to Giles' apparent remorse, you throw this in. Brrrr....

Yeah,I think Giles's remorse only went so deep, and he soon talked himself out of it anyway.
