Wow. Sorry for all the strife. At risk of sounding unsympathetic, this is what I think you should do: Lay off the rant posts and tidy up your resume, then send it out like mad. You're a smart girl, college educated, you've got a lot to offer, sooner or later someone will bite the bait. Once you're earning a bit more, save whatever you can afford to, look high and low for a roommie... While you do have to be comfortable with someone to live w/them, remember that they don't have to be your best friend. If you've had a friend in mind that you'd like to live with and for whatever reason isn't possible, fuck it. There are plenty of reliable, clean people out there with whom to split rent and utilities. Get yourself centered, think about what'll ultimately make you happy. Take a stab a true independence and move the hell outta El Paso. Dallas, Austin, Houston, San Antonio... Those places are far enough away to show your parents that when it comes down to it all you need is you, and that you're no longer willing to put up with their bullshit
