Took the girlfriend to see her favorite movie, "Elf," at a local Christmas film festival, and just as we were about to leave, my favorite Christmas program of ALL TIME came on - "A Charlie Brown Christmas!"  I hadn't seen it in years, and I forgot just how much I loved that show.  I'm such a softie, I even teared up during Linus' speech!

Interesting date last night: the girlfriend and I ventured into the district to watch our local PBS station's screening on the Independent Lens program "Helvetica," about the creation and history of the font.  Surprisingly, it wasn't boring in the slightest - the subjects were engaging, and you walked away not only knowing more about the recent ( Read more... )
