Save Our Phone Box campaign
This is my local K6 phone kiosk, in Ellisland Drive, Dumfries. BT wanted to get rid of it because it's no longer profitable, but it's been offered a reprieve if the local community can raise £575 per year to pay for its upkeep.We've raised some money already and more has been pledged, but we're still looking for sponsors. Buzz Clifford
Spotted a CD on eBay and discovered that Buzz Clifford did a version of Unchained Melody! This I must hear. It's got Driftwood and Baby Sittin' Boogie on it too. Apparently he was a one hit wonder, so obscure that he doesn't even have his own Wikipedia entry. -
Just a small rant
One of my online Scrabble opponents seems to have abandoned our game. I'm ahead 107-66 at the moment, but much more annoyingly, I have a 7 letter word sitting on my rack, with 2 possible places to lay it. Since it's his turn and he hasn't taken it for over a week, I am now entitled to claim victory by default if I so choose, but that's not as much ( Read more... ) -

I met my match
at Sunday's car boot sale, where I had a stall. I met a marvellous little old lady who haggled harder than me! She got me down from £3 to £1.60 (with a free history lesson) for a King George & Queen Mary cup and saucer.
I should get myself a driving licence and a car one of these days. Would make car boot sales much easier.
