I was in the process of updating the OSs for the VMs running on one of my virtualization servers (ProxMox, if you're wondering...) and several of them are FreeBSD or other OSs that I have to build parts of it from source. Over a year without even a nibble on a potential job... and three interviews in a week..

I'm not complaining, I'm striving to understand.

I haven't changed my resume.

My shotgun-approach to applying for positions hasn't changed (I send at least 40 applications out a week, every week).

I'm getting closer to getting this thing figured out...

I was half right - the antenna switching unit (also called the connector board) had a bad transistor and a resistor that was so burnt I couldn't even see it until I turned the light WAY up. Parts for the 751A arrived today.. Now I get to see if I was right about the antenna switching unit...

I'm fairly certain... well, 98% certain, anyway ...that I know what's wrong with my old IC-751a...
Assuming all of my testing and the initial release of blue smoke back in 2003 or 4 (whenever it was) hasn't hurt the actual PA components, and assuming I'm not missing something (which is entirely possible!), I believe the problem is in the TX/RX ( Read more... )
