Re: Wha chu talkin' bout Willis?! sidecarsuzie June 27 2007, 20:54:59 UTC
yea, I know I CAN do one, but I don't WANT to. At least not right now when I'm having so much success at tri!

Maybe when I finish law school!

that's awesome! good work.

on breast-stroke: i used to do this when i was freaking out, but was told by my more experience triathlon friend that this was not cool. now whenever i talk to a newbie to a tri, i explain to them that going on their back and kicking their legs is must better and it is easier to catch your breath and talk yourself through the panic. a few weekends ago, a girl did her first tri and i was telling her this; after the race she told me that it helped her so much. i think this should be a mantra for experienced triathletes to tell newbies!

on sleep: i have read over and over again that how you sleep the night before a tri is not nearly as important as the sleep you have two nights before. and you have proved it!

on heart attacks after races: i have heard this more than once. it is scary, but i figure that if it's going to happen, it's kind of good if it happens right at the finish line because the medics are right there. hopefully he's okay.

on you: i am impressed! nicely done!

i have read the same thing about the two nights before and i've been really careful to do exactly that this season. My coach told me that she raced her fastest ironman (11:26 I think) on three hours of sleep.

i have some questions about coaching (if you don't mind answering them): what do you think of your coach? how did you find her? what services does she provide? thanks in advance!

I love my coach. her name is jill fry (tricoachjill.com). She actually has her own team and is really responsive by email.

I just do her running program because that's all I can afford but she does a full triathlon program as well. We don't meet much because I don't have time but she offers meetings.

I actually found her because we race on the same team: triumph multisport

Congrats Jess! I was thinking of you this weekend when I was home visiting family, all of whom are situated on the path of the Coeur d'Alene Ironman. It was surreal and fun to watch.

that's awesome! Three of my buddies raced it. I heard it was really windy but everyone finished!

We should get together soon. Any interest in coming to marg night just to hang tonight?

Hey!

The other tattooed tri-athlete can be found here: dogpound.livejournal.com

I told her to watch for you.
