I'm still around. I haven't watched anything with Jake or Heath in ages. This year has been very hard on so many. It's been a roller coaster ride, I've managed to get together with my meet up group a few times. doing outdoor activities. I have a road buddy I went on trips around the area. The year is ending off on another sour note. I was informed by my housemate that she is moving into a retirement community and that I have to find a new place to live, it kind of took me by surprise, she kept this information under her hat for a while. So in the middle of a pandemic I have to look for a new home. :(
that's harsh. i wonder why she didn't spill the beans sooner. maybe she was hoping it wouldn't come to pass, or didn't know how to tell you. are you looking for an apartment? moving is such a pain in the rear. i hope you find someplace that suits you soon. glad you have been able to have some fun along the way. outside is definitely the way to go this year

HELLLLLOOOOOO........ Back! Actually, to all three of you, I guess! I just love it when a BBM member makes a post. I check in a few times a week. I try and keep a check on Find it here... In the last couple of years a few new people have shown up, and I help supply old fics/make recs.
A couple of months ago, Marian (wildcolumbine) made a post regarding a published book.
Mary (lv2walk) still - once in a great while - still will put out a new chapter. She finished her - Jack is a fairy - story this year.
And Mona (the-boys-n-me) - Well, I still visit with her. She has two published novels now too. The second one was this year.
Jane, so sorry to hear you're going through some dissension right now. I agree, Heath and Jake still have the ability to be a 'happy place'. Would it be cathartic to write? I seem to remember a lovely story or two of yours that I wouldn't mind reading more of! ('m kidding! Okay, I'm NOT!)
I loved the pics. Thank you so much for enclosing them with your post!
it's nice that folks are having some success getting published. it's odd, but while i love m/m fanfic, i rarely find m/m original fic that works for me. of course, i don't fall in love with every m/f story i pick up either. i'd actually much rather read m/m, that's my fave by far, but finding good stories is a struggle. i'm not even sure where to go find fanfic anymore. i know that archive of our own is a huge resource, but it's actually a bit overwhelming. i don't think many folks post here anymore, and i'm not sure what fandoms are popular now. i enjoyed reading Thor/Loki for a while. that was my latest foray into reading. i cant write in any other fandom, which i find strange and frustrating. i am trying to write some BBM fic now, just to see if i still can and to reassert my need to do creative things. i've been working nonstop in animal rescue for the last 3 years and i've lost touch with everything. i need a break!!

yes, this year has been a hot mess. between sickness and politics i think we are all ready to crawl under our beds and hide. i miss the stories a lot, as well as the commaroderie (can't spell that word. lol) I still have my BFF Karla but i've lost touch with most everyone else. i am very thankful for the experience, and i'm sad that it was, in retrospect, so short. i know very few things last forever, though.
here's to 2021 and anything resembling normal!! =D
Hey, Jane ! what a huge surprise ! I'm checking my livejournal page weekly, hoping for some Brokeback writers to show up, praying for a few to finish their stories that I loved so much ... and I still read stories from my other love - Supernatural, it just finished after 15 seasons... remember you had 2 stories in mirror, one Jake/ Heath, the other Jensen/ Jared ? sweet times.... it's 15 years since they made Brokeback Mountain, right ?.... I'm rambling.
What happened to you ? I hope it's not very bad.... it's a horrible year ! I lost my job 4 months ago, was working in a hotel.... at 51 to find a new job, in another domain, during a pandemic, with the market flooded by unemployment .... yes, I'm that lucky !
Hang in there, hon, and thank you for the wonderful pics !
hey there! i hope you are having luck with your job search! my heart breaks for all the folks out there trying to scrape their pennies together when before all this, they were fine. and of course for all the folks who've been sick and lost loved ones. my mom has been sick for a couple of months. she survived, was in the hospital for a week but not on a vent, thank goodness. but she's still compromised. she coughs a lot, doesn't have much energy. at 86, her life is winding down, and i hate that this stupid disease had to steal a good year from her. as for me, i've gotten caught up in animal rescue to the point where i kinda disappeared for a while. i'm trying to step back some and do other things, but it's hard. once folks have your number, it never ends
