Seeing is how i'm the only person in the c-store that never seems to get sick, never calls out, and never forgets when i work, i am the special being that gets to cover everyone magically at beck and call.  Managers have forgotten when i can work, and then i have to reschedule to cater to them, co-workers "forget" they had a test the next day or ( Read more... )

Sometimes we really do get ill. I don't know if anyone else called out tonight, but I really do have laryngitis and a fever. I went to the hospital a day or so ago. I'm sorry you're unhappy with your $9+/hour job and the title that comes with it.

::sighs::

so, it's like the little boy who called wolf ya know. I feel sympathy for you, and i do hope you well.

Last night was close to 13hours of straight work for me you have to understand. two other people called out at camilles which had me working from 6am-530pm, then to run to class in BRANDON, then run back to the c-store when i got out, and close with ryke which you know is like closing with one person.

it just seems that i end up covering a lot of shifts that i haven't been scheduled for because i don't want you guys to have a hard time closing and what not. I always do it to help. and if i ever need one shift covered no one can ever cover it. I mean, it's not just you. Vanializ could cover last night but chose not to even though she needs the hours. I've been sick before and called everyone i knew to help cover and no one could. this is what this post was about and it wasn't a personal attack.

and btw, it's 8.63 after taxes.

it is not people's faults for getting sick and if the scheduling manager did not write the schedule so sporadically, if he even makes a new schedule then people would know when to place their requests in....stop being bitter.

well actually it's everyone's responsibility to put in a request for time off 2 weeks before it happens then you never have to worry about switching. also, chadd schedules by availibility, sometimes he makes errors when scheduling because he meant to schedule on one day and did so on another.

also, you know that half the time some people at that store call out their not really sick in the first place. this was not a personal attack on you, and like how you use lj, this was a time to vent.
