So where do I go from here? I could probably come back and teach next year. There would certainly be financial benefits but I won't be able to make that decision until I spend some time back in Canada. We had a 5-week break in February which I used to go to Thailand with some fellow instructors. It was awesome and will remain one of the most memorable experiences of my life. I have to admit I've been apprehensive of attending this years Pride parade.  Up until now I've never really seen the point.  You don't see straight people marching in celebration of their straightness so why would the gay community feel the need to flaunt the fact that they are boning someone of the same sex.  A naive view on my part I'm afraid.  ( Read more... )

Califur was great, got back from LA around 5 this morning and I'm dead tired. Feel like I've had a sleep deprivation hangover all day. Got to meet some great people namely D-Wolf (who had better move up here to Vancouver soon) and Sparks (she's awesome beyond words). Last Friday my current animation contract ended so I have a month off before going back onto a new show. I'll be doing 3D for my next job so I'm entrenched in Maya for the next little while. I visited Aphinity in the hospital today; something I should have done sooner seeing how I live so damn close. I was glad to see him in such good spirits despite being diagnosed with Crohn's Disease a few days ago. He certainly seems to be on the mend.
