Starting from the end and going backwards.

I am back from Berlin! In anticipation of having no net time, I recorded my (truly fascinating) thoughts on paper. Cleverly I neglected dates, so very probably it is out of order.

Tuesday:Went for a walk in a cemetery today, which was cool, except for the moment when I suddenly became aware of a foul smell and decided it was the stench of death ( Read more... )

Oh no, you saw R+ in concert! I was meant to see them in Hamburg on the 13th but couldn't make it. I think they played Berlin on the 18th. I was so crushed. Damn working responsibilities!

Poo! I hope you get to see them -- they're hanging around for a bit, I think -- how long are you Berlin for?

A while, by the looks of things. I could even say indefinately, so I'm bound to see R+ sooner or later. I just wanted to see them sooner :(

One thing that I miss about Europe is how you can find packs of wandering drunks of various foreign nationalities in any major city. Heck, while in Prague, a friend of mine was attacked by a saber-wielding man from the Ivory Coast and his drunken friends.

Here in the US you just get packs of wandering fratboys, which is not nearly as entertaining. I can't remember the last time a fratboy tried to jump me with a cavalry saber.

I'm midly worried about this sabre story, though the only strange thing we say in Prague was thousands of middle-ages American tourists, who had obviously taken the pick-pocket warnings very much to heart and were wearing their backpacks across their chests and gazing with aggressive suspicion at anyone who came within five mitres of them :)

The problem with wandering fratboys is that at least one of them grew up (so to speak) to be Fred Durst.
