Wow, you and I have done a hell of a lot of the same sort of stuff this year (well, thriteen months for me, also), it's uncanny. The main differences are that I didn't bother graduating from uni, I dropped it for a fulltime job so I could travel Europe. But still.
'AUD Slips to New Low: Peter Costello Kills Self, Others. Democrats barricade themselves inside office using Andrew Bartlett's fan letters to Morrissey.'
Rolling Stone's top 500 songs of all time. AND WHERE IS 'WHIP IT' BY DEVO????!!!1! >:O >:O Nowhere, that's where!
These two quotes made my day, trully! *laughs arse off*
I don't know -- I don't feel like I've pushed myself outside of my comfort zone at all really, except in terms of having coped with being surrounded by far, far more people than ever before (and even then, I haven't actually overcome the issues I have with that).
And if anything, my personal interaction skills have actually gotten *worse*; I still manage to stuff up friendships in almost the exact same ways as I have in the past. Maybe I'll have to wait until I get back to Aust. though to notice anything :p
I am areally sorry that I am just now responding to your message, particularly since you must already be in Berlin by now. I've had irregular internet access over the last couple of days. Unfortunately, it doesn't look like I'll be able to come up to Berlin - I need to prepare for my classes, which resume this week, and I'm a bit short on funds for the requisite train fare after traveling for New Year's.
How long are you staying in Europe? Are studying or working here, or is it a vacation-type thing?
Please let me know if you return to Germany and want to meet up. You are also, of course, welcome to visit me in Leipzig.
yeah, I arrived in Berlin (late) yesterday :) I completely understand about the lack of funds -- have that problem myself, otherwise I'd love to take you up on the offer of meeting up in Leipzig (and I'm only in Berlin for the week -- after that, it's back in England for ten days, then off home so I can be back in Aust. in time to sort out my uni stuff before starting up again). If I'm back in Europe any time this year though (unlikely, but stranger things have happened, especially since my mum and sister really want to come over) I'll be sure to let you know :)
I miss you guys too! *hugs you* I'm looking forward to seeing you all -- I should come over and watch videos or something at your place and we can get pizza *hugs you again*
:D I've missed LJ a lot -- it's weird how much. Sorry I haven't been able to comment much, but I assure you I'm still reading whenever possible :)
I'll be around a bit, I hope -- off to Ze Continent again in a few days, but will be home again in about three weeks, so will be back to cable internet in my room and really nothing else to do, so... :D

Stupid Rolling Stone. At least they have "Lola" on the list.

Btw, I'm going to be in Berlin from the 3rd to the 7th -- would it be at all convenient to meet up with you sometime for coffee?
