OMG... this is disturbing and heartbreaking... but I'm glad you tossed us a bone of optimism at the end...

Well done.

Its so conflicting. Like proof you just can't erase what your soul wants and really needs. Proof that a connection is more than a craving. Maybe you can erase the craving, dull the need, remove the immediate feeling of love, disrupt the bond. However deep down you can't really wipe it all away. FATED is the word that runs through my mind when I think of them. Maybe I got it all wrong but it's what I see.

What a poetic comment. I think all of us who love Kradam can't help but believe in fate, at least a little.

oh, you broke my heart. that's because you wrote it so well - kris's drifting loss, adam's hopeful grasp, katy's willful clutch. i hope adam wins.

This makes me think of The Stepford Wives, for some reason (book version). Behaviour modification, I guess is why. And you did it without villainizing anyone, a rare achievement! \0/

It's heartbreaking, but maybe a little hopeful, at the end, because Adam's not going to give up, and Kris knows he wants this.

About the villainizing, I was concerned about going OTT with Katy, so I'm glad the characterization worked for you. Thanks so much bb.

No, in the context of the story, how she behaved was quite reasonable, imo. They're fighting for their marriage, they're in the church, and behavior modification ~is a tactic used to try to make someone not be gay. So the idea of a futuristic drug that has the affect of removing an emotional addiction is clever; and the use of it, and all of their reactions are very believable.

I do wonder how effective it is, though, because an addiction can be controlled-but is it ever actually ~removed? Once an alcoholic, always an alcoholic, for example. Not drinking doesn't change that.

So...not indulging in being with or loving Adam, thinking about him all the time...that wouldn't make Kris less of an "addict" (aka in love with) Adam, to my thinking. I firmly believe that once they get working on this relationship, all the feelings will come back, and they'll be layered on top of the new feelings Kris develops, to make them doubly powerful!

I'm not hearing any different, lalalalala! ~fingers in ears :D
