But looking into it, it really would be abnormal for him to be creating stories on his own at this age. He's mostly imitating what he sees, which is perfectly normal.
I wasn't actually that concerned about his imagination. It was supposed to be an amusing anecdote with sardonic commentary. :o) But I do appreciate the props for Boynton! She has some very cool stuff!
Oh, and I can't remember the books you mentioned as favorites that are no longer published. Do you mind listing them again?

How old were you when they read you longer books? I've been wanting to start (Carroll and Tolkien as well as E. Nesbitt and A.A. Milne, and a few others I can't remember right now) but am not sure he'd sit through them yet. I could experiment I guess, but that would involve not being tired as well and thus lazy. Puh.
Why a pre-1980 Mother Goose, out of curiosity? Are they abridging or rewriting them now?
