Look Ma, DPNs!
So my major fear in knitting was socks on DPNs. DPNs seem so complicated, but they look cool. So I bought a set of sock needles, and some yarn and a toe up sock book and I tried, and I cast on about 5 times, and I finally got it.

Crafty Post
So since I am home, and writing is one of those processes that happens as much when you aren't actually putting words on paper as when you are, I have been knitting and spinning quite a bit, no crochet though, my poor cabled sweater is still sitting untouched since Christmas and I am tempted to just frog it and save the yarn for a knitted sweater ( Read more... ) -
First knitted project
Last night right before I went to bed I finished off the hat I have been struggling with for a week. I finally got everything down and the last 20 rows knitted up easily, with only one frogging back to fix a major pattern error (it was a spiraled rib patterned hat, and if you made one mistake, the entire thing would be off, so lots of frogging ( Read more... ) -
London Day 5
Today was rather subdued, after breakfast we got an email that JD had passed away overnight and Marta was very ill and might not make it. Continued emails this evening updated us that Marta is doing better, although Robin is still very concerned about her. We saw 9 last night, it was a very beautiful movie, but the plot line and characters needed some work to make it as good as the artwork. Tommy made the comment that the images of the city are huge compared to the dolls, but they move through the space so quickly it feels small. The ending was odd, nothing that any of the characters did quite had ( Read more... )
