I am home sick today, all feverish and full of snot, but it meant that I was here when the refrigerator repairman showed up. He thinks I will need a new fridge, which is fine, except there won't  be a fridge until NEXT WEEK at the earliest. Today my first batch of produce going toward my attempt to start liking salad is coming. I cannot eat frozen

I know this might suck, but have you tried taking all the crap out of your fridge, unplugging it, and leaving the doors open (with a couple of strategically placed towels) until it completely defrosts?
