I'm not in an interracial relationship...nor even in a relationship. But I really like this guy I met through myspace. Yeah, he's white, i'm white so if this isn't appropriate just delete but I figure you guys might be able to gimme some advice. He's in the Navy. so you really like him but you do not want to get too attached because he's inevitably leaving for 3-6 months?

it all depends on when he gets back if he's going to leave within months of returning. if not then maybe you could proceed with something because it sounds like you really, really like him, and if you want a relationship then it's best you act now or at least tell him of the way you feel (if you haven't already done this). if you say leave it until he returns from his duty to pursue then everything could have changed and you might have lost that special something that you felt for him.

there are many maybes and what ifs involved here but essentially I say follow those feelings and embrace him - enjoy the time you do have together.

so has he told you to find someone else because he's doing some noble thing because he won't be here or because he doesn't feel as strongly as you do for him?

i think it's cuz he's doing something noble and he doesn't want to be in a ld cuz he got burned really really badly last time. He said he wants to give me what I want but can't
