Made my new armor, rooted in solid research on Ottoman goodness (but in no way Period in a way I'm 100% proud of... Good start). I still need to make a proper onion top helm with my enabler Steinbjorn, but he taught me so so much about leather working and metal working that I have good reason to be proud of making everything I wore (except linking

looks good. as for the things you cant do, its why you barter with those who can using things you can do. a friend of mine bartered an entire outfit, hand made, full trim and customized to his persona and heraldry for basically a standard sized dice bags worth of glass beads he made over a weekend.

I got fantastic deals on the things I didn't make :)
The base chain shirt came from my Archos, who never uses it anymore because it'll rust if it gets wet. I just had to trim down the length and fix the holes before cutting all the plate work and putting it all on.
Gambeson was a very dirt cheap commission from the same Baroness who made all the gambesons for the current Baron and his kids. It uses a back and forth zipper type fastening that I love.
And for the trim, I traded manual labor making a cloak and sewing lessons. I got 7yds of custom trim and still have a roll left over.
