Excellent. And I don't think you mutated the prompt at all.

As always, I love your turn of a phrase, such as: radiating a silence as sharp as its edge. I wish you'd write more.

The one thing that stuck in my gut was Kirsten's 'naivete' - how clueless she is in her indignance that Ryan might have needed a weapon. How insensitive she was about it to say "You're fifteen, Ryan, who could you need this type of protection from?" Did she not remember why it was that Ryan came into their care? None of this is a criticism of your words.....I love your characterizations here. Just made me want to smack her!

Oh a great S1 story. I liked it a lot. You did a good job with the prompt. I thought everyone was quite in character. Or at least, how I'd hope them to be in character.

It's so funny, because when i wrote the sentence, i knew that Trey had given Ryan the knife. I was so excited to see that you thought so too. :-)
