That can never happen with your first time anyways, that’s what Lucy told me. She said that as long as the sex doesn’t last longer than 15 minutes, it’s impossible to get pregnant.
Oh, god, this is so horribly wrong-headed that it's just completely perfect as the kind of dangerous misinformation teenagers would spread.

This sounded very authentically teenaged, including the jumping-around thoughts and mindless enthusiasm for something that frankly doesn't sound like much fun for any of the girls involved. :0

I actually made up that bit about 15 minute sex but, like you said, I put that in becuase that is the kind of thing teens tell each other. "Oh, if you do it standing up you can't get pregnant." "It's only if you do it twice in one day." Kids are funny, or at least they were when I was a teen, about latching on to wrong ideas about what can and cannot cause pregnancy.

The name "Shouting Violet" was my partner's brainstorm. She actually wrote the IMversation and we decided to put it at the top of both since it's the starting point. She was a great partner this week, as were you last week. Thanks again!

Even had your character not turned out to be named Violet, I would have loved it as a contrast to the usual "shrinking violet."

The IM worked really well as a link in both stories, especially because the POVs go in SUCH different directions afterward. Both realistic, both completely different.

I felt a little jealous when I saw you mention your partner for this week! But, I can't keep you forever. Must share, I suppose. Still...

It is a teen rumor, or it was when I was in high school, although it wasn't so much fifteen minutes as like half a minute or something... but yeah, there was a rumor about the amount of time that "had" to be involved. Left over from middle school, I believe, as everyone in high school seemed to know better, but it was still out there.
