One of my favourite books is being turned into a six part BBC miniseries. "Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell" coming to the small screen next year.

It got really good and all the actors had upped their game. By Series 4, it had toned down the "mysterious strangers comes to Camelot and hilarity ensues" episodes and developed a fairly dark and adult tone (*whispers* sometimes it was better than Moffat's Who). Also for slashers, it was the show to watch. Merlin will be missed.

If I wanted LJ to look like Tumblr, I would have asked.

Waterstones is selling Justin Cronin's "The Twelve", the follow-up to the much hyped "The Passage". So what,you might think. Well their version has an exclusive extra chapter. Is this a new tactic in response to digital downloads? It's something you would expect a video game store chain to do (exclusive DLC or multiplayer maps) but a book store?

I don't think even Thatcher or Clinton could deliver a performance that good. Gillard is in a league of her own.

I did some digging last night and uncovered these ads from 1999-2004 that were placed in Variety and The Hollywood Reporter (for completion's sake I've included the Bangel ad that I posted the other day). They're roughly in chronological order.

I found the Hollywood Reporter B/A ad placed by Bangels when Buffy was sold to UPN back in 2002. I miss the days when fan factions would put ads in the trades. I'm sure Mutant Enemy must have wondered at what they had unleashed.
