Do you own the original oil painting or a print? If you own the actual oil painting then WOW! I bet it's fabulous! You are so lucky to own it! I figured the original had to be hanging somewhere. How did you come across it, was it a gift or auction item or handed down in your family? If it's the print then you are still lucky! I just love my print!

I believe it is an original as it is oil - it needs some restoration ... I received it as a birthday prosent about 40 years ago - it was bought at an auction...it is painted on a hard surface, not canvas, as I understand.

Oh wow! This is so exciting to be talking to someone who owns the original painting! It is a favorite painting of mine. I got my print about 30 years ago from my husband's granny who gave it to us.Oh yes if it is oil it is an original! Do you have a blog? It would be fun to see photos of the original! Ha ha ha, I guess it would look just like the prints, but I'm just thrilled to "meet" the person who owns it! Oil paintings are not always painted on canvas. Masonite board is also used. That might be what yours is painted on. The print is on cardboard, which is softer than masonite board. I've read that she painted those cat portraits for her friends of their cats. You are so lucky to own it!

Oh, I'm confused. Are you a different person than the one below claiming to own the original? I see you have a link but I can't find the Persian listed. Can you link me to it? Is it for sale? or part of your personal collection? Thanks for writing to me about this.

PS...I've really tried to search the link you sent but can't find it. Is it displayed in a public place where we could come view it? I would love to take a trip to come view it!
My neighbor owns a copy of the Siamese cat print. Her brother bought it for her in Madison, WI in the 70's. I've always loved it and wondered about it - thank you for your post!

Hi Sue, I have just found a framed print of the Margaret McDonald Phillips "King Of Siam" which measures 18.5" by 15.5" in the frame. I am intending to sell it on eBay. I contacted you first because I found your blog and website. If you are interested, I can provide you with more info.

Thanks so much for thinking of me! I'm actually more interested in buying the original of the Persian (but might not be able to afford it, honestly) but I will take a look at your eBay listing. That was nice of you to let me know about it! Thanks again, Sue
