1) Had a 3-hour yoga workshop last Sunday with my yoga teacher and 7 others. I recently discovered Melody Gardot (quite randomly too...forgot how I found her through clicks of the internet) and am basically in love with her music and voice! I took my first beginner series class yesterday at Cat's Corner. It was great!  The dance floor was smaller than I expected, but somehow we were able to fit 20 students there.  Unlike other free classes I have taken, we started off with the Charleston in our first class!  I know the basic Charleston step, but it was fun to learn more variations to ( Read more... )

had a wonderful time with my bf this long weekend.  We took Friday off so we could have a long weekend together.  We stayed locally for a couple of days and went out to the city for a day and took the SF Walking Tour.  It was fun.

I went to 9:20 Swing last Thursday--my first time there. The class was great, and it reinforced my knowledge of the lindy swingout.  The turnout for the actual dance was really good. Watching a group of elementary, junior high, and high school students beating their drums and performing in downtown Shattuck.  The energy from the kids and the audience was great.  One by one, the kids would stand in the front and perform a short solo, beating their drum to their own rhythm.  There was no music, but the beating of the drums itself ( Read more... )
