how can this happen?

my grandfather just had a major heart attack last night...the entire left side of his heart stopped and they had to use the defribulators...he had some kind of heart surgery where they inserted a mesh and re-opened his arteries, but he's currently in a coma and they have no idea what kind of damage has been done...we found out at one forty-eight
