So as I dive deeper into Christian Lit I am find more 'serious' christian writers write alot about Satan and his desire to corrupt you and all that. Which I find not only boring but incredibly retarded

It's a fairly common human trait to view the world as a dichotomy; good vs. evil has an epic feel to it, and is attractive in many ways.
The more you can dissociate yourself from your decisions, especially the bad ones, the less you have to worry about guilt or shame or remorse. "The devil made me do it," therefore feeling nothing is entirely permissible.
The first lie Satan uses is that he doesn't exist. The second is that he cannot be overpowered. The first leads us to ignore him, which tends to shift our focus towards ourselves because there is no battle to fight. The second draws our focus to him, awed and amazed and intimidated by an enemy we cannot defeat. Either way, our focus is withdrawn from God, and that's the whole point.
This is all theory. What I believe is not far from this, but is significantly less defined. But this is approximately what I've been taught that has tested true regardless of my path.
