States that keep us far apart

What do you guys think of this?

I would try and explain my opinion on the matter, but I think my head might start spinning like something out of the exorcist and I'll go into some kind of fit.

Not that it's really any of my business anyway. I just like to have opinions.

A few years ago there was a hugely publiced case over here of a terminally ill of this old grandma on the gold coast who had been sick with cancer for many years and was planning to take her own life.It caused lots of uproar on the whole euthanasia deal.We debated it in school and I read up a lot on both sides of the debate ( ... )

i've heard about this every day on the news. it really is so cruel to keep her alive. i understand how hard it must be for her parents, but they have to think about their kid. she really isn't going to have a good quality of life whatsoever. if i was blind, deaf, had kidney, heart & brain defects and was in intolerable pain i'd want to be put out of my misery. it's such a horrible position to be in and i know i must sound like the biggest bitch ever. so sorry.

no, i agree with you, it is cruel. i understand it must be hard, and i know i'd be clinging on to desperate hopes if it was my kid, but they have to realise sooner or later.

I think it's unfair to keep a baby alive who knows nothing but pain. That's probably the only thing that is registering to her at this stage. I think that is horrible.

Nothing scares me more than the thought of being, say, paralysed and mute, and in pain. I would want to die then and the thought of being kept alive in that state terrifies me.
