"The gunshots didn’t have to connect to hurt." That part made me go BAWWW ;__; all over again. Innocent Cloud is just so adorable. I'd rather that Cloud go to Shin-Ra though, because if he doesn't, then he'll never meet Zack D:

Haha, out of all the time-travel fics I've read, this is probably the first time I've read about future Cloud meeting himself in the past. Nice twist! Well-written, too, but you have a few typos.

The Cloud/cloud interaction was a treat, though. So very IC, which was perfect and hilarious. The whole dragon-slaying thing would've been plenty good on its own, but just got better when you added in a pre-hell-in a-handbasket!Cloud. Cute.

But what's happening in Midgar? And the cliffie! Evil, I say.

(And I want more Genesis. Srsly, your Genesis is becoming an addiction. We likesss him, oh yes we do. *gollum gollum*)

Ah, yes, confusing for the folks who never played Crisis Core. He stabbed the others into the soft earth, swapped the Fire materia for the Restore materia, and ran one last check on his equipment

*snickers* This is just like the game, where you see the boss up next and check if all your materia is equipped properly. XD Very nice.

I like how Cloud could anticipate little!Cloud's responses. It'd be so amusing if Cloud becomes his own idol. More amusing still is if little!Cloud starts idolizing Genesis, haha.

Zack!! :D Hmm, I guess things are on an accelerated timeline now that the Wutai War didn't take however long it did in canon. If Cloud's 13, then Zack's 15 and Aerith is 14...?

I'm not sure - do you want to know more about the Strifes? I've got a bit on it, but it's not really relevant to the main storyline, so I was considering cutting it out as excess. I guess I've raised the question though, so maybe I should answer it.

As for the ages, I guess it depends on when everyone's birthdays are! :D When I did the research on constructing the timeline, the time between some events was a little bit fuzzy, so it was mostly guesswork.

You need not wait much longer for Vincent. :3

I think expanding on the backstory a bit would be better than never addressing it again. I'm very curious as to why Strife-mama is so pissed at Cloud's dad's side of the family and I'm sure a lot of the other readers are, too. I can see how you might think it'd just be filler or something, but as long as you don't spend, like, an entire chapter on the topic, I think it would add rather than take away from the main story.

I'd always pegged Zack as 16 at the beginning of CC and then 18 when he and Cloud get captured. But the 16's all in my head, so I could be wrong. :/

Vincent~~ ♥ I'm so, so anticipating his entry. His characterization is so...stiff, typically, in these kinds of fics. I'm looking forward to what you have planned for him. >D

Hmm, yes, for some reason I thought he was sixteen in Wutai, and nineteen at Nibelheim, but I don't know where I got that from anymore. I think it was based on the idea that Cloud had heard about the end of the Wutai War before heading off to Shinra, and factor in that he was probably in ShinRa for about two years before he entered the lab, and he was 22 in the main game. So I thought the space between Wutai to Nibelheim was about three years? All just estimates, though. Either way, it's only a couple of months difference. The wiki has some weird BC/AC dating system.

Ack, pressure's on with Vincent! I'm not so sure you'll be so thrilled with what I have planned for him, hope it doesn't disappoint.

Aeris~ Or is it Aerith? I know it was one at one point in time, but then changed in KH or something like that...

Oh I love your Chibi!Cloud. Just so curious, and talking about Genesis instead of Sephiroth. Cloud, don't get mad at the Chibi. He can't help it that he's curious enough about you to leave his Mama for a bit. And since Cloud said that Chibi can come find him, does that mean that he will? Sin, is that foreshadowing?! And Cloud, go find Fenrir so you can start making deliveries and make some money so that you can stay in a hotel. T_T Of course, he has more important things to do, but if he's going to be traveling anyway... And if I'm right from the last chapter, and Genesis did go to find Cloud, is he going to see Cloud and Chibi together and put the whole picture together and know that Cloud and Chibi are actually the same person? D8 So many questions. I want answers!

And thanks so much for the Zack! OMG, I hope Cloud doesn't cry if he actually does meet Zack, cause then I will cry. T_T

Do people have a preference between Aeris and Aerith? I was leaning towards 'Aeris' simply because that was her name in the original game (first is best and all that), but it's not a big deal for me. I think it changed in later spin-offs, not sure when it became 'Aerith'.

Indeed, Genesis is still in Midgar, but that doesn't mean he can't do things to hurry along Cloud's arrival... :)
