What. The. HELL.

Aauugh it's too much help me heeeelp.

So this is exciting. Um. I really don't want Sephiroth to die... (Cloud is his own problem -- we've got Spike.)

Buhoo. Waah. The suspense, it kills.

You are a genius. An evil genius. Madgirl. Yes.

But to be coherent.

Aaaugh I don't even know what to saaaayyy.

In this order, Aerith, Sephiroth, Genesis and Cloud all had Crowning Moments of Awesome in this chapter.

Mind you, Cloud's Moment is also a Wallbanger. But with such a seemingly clear-cut outcome on the way...? No, I expect to be surprised. I'd be surprised if I wasn't. This is going to be amazing. Hee. Heeheee.

Oooo, cold, you don't even care which Cloud survives! XD How easily he is replaced. No wonder he wanted to commit murder-suicide. :P

I think the outcome is pretty pedestrian and predictable, actually? That's about it for the plot twists. So don't be holding your breath. Last chapter is more of an epilogue than anything else.

All awesome endings. Although the first one isn't really possible anymore, since Jenova is now ash. Although bad guys winning is fun to write on occasions, yes. I love a good villain.

And don't worry, I wouldn't use any of my previous fics as a barometer. Despite what ixtey may say, I have been cruel with endings 50% of the time in the past, which means anything can happen! \o/

Although I must also say - option B would open up a huge can of worms. Because that's kind of what Sephiroth did in the first timeline, and look where that led. o_o

LOGIC WINS (round 1)! It's almost a surprise whenever this happens, since so many 'classics' have characters that can't see common sense until it's too late (like Romeo and Juliet, with the whole Tybalt/Mercutio scene). I'm glad Zack and Aeris got through to Cloud ( ... )

...what would've been hilarious is if Vincent shot Cloud in between the eyes when he went in for round 2. He did it to Hojo, Jenova (to no effect...), and just, he -- *flails* Vincent~~

[/end crazy]

I need to study, haha. Otherwise I would've doodled something for these lovely comment above~ *__*

Cloud's logic will be explained, don't worry. ^_^ (Though whether you find that explanation satisfactory is another matter, I guess.) Although you have a point, it's easy to make drama when characters are acting irrationally! I guess that's why the logic losing out until too late thing is so commonplace in fiction.

Kunsel has already woken up from his coma with his memories intact, actually, if you will recall the mail he sent Zack. Cloud doesn't know that of course, but then, Cloud doesn't know Kunsel's been in a coma, either.

XD *Vincent shoots Cloud between the eyes, Cloud trips and falls over dead* - MOST UNSATISFYING END TO THE STORY EVER. I figure someone moving at SOLDIER-speeds is slightly more challenging to hit than a crazy scientist and stationary fossil, and we have to hope that he would at least try to deter Cloud first before going for the kill. Oh, Vincent <3 ( ... )

I'm sure what you come up with will be brilliant, as always. XD

Whoops, forgot about the mail! Then I hope Angeal gets to the water fast enough...

I honestly would've been shocked and then burst out laughing if you'd written that in. In an all-out fight, I think Cloud could take Vincent even in Chaos form, but overall who'd be able to take the other out IRL...Vincent all the way, haha. He'd use his Turk-skills to assassinate Cloud before Cloud would realize he's being targeted. XP

I'm going to be sad that I won't be able to look forward to weekly updates from you...any idea what kind of fic you're going to start next?

Action. Action. BUZZAH YOU GAVE US ACTION--

--and somehow it came to this. Damn, it's like One Piece all over again because you knew this was going to happen eventually, but it still hurts. Damnit, I'm going to reread you P3 fics.

Thank you for the rec! ^_^ Haa, I haven't actually really pimped this story anywhere yet, so the fact it's picked up so many readers is entirely thanks to you guys. I'm truly honoured.

I can't say I managed to stick with One Piece long enough to know what you're talking about. :S How did it end? Also, I'm not sure if P3 fics are a great way to offset the tragic angst factor XD.

OP's not over yet!! But there's recently been the first significant death(s) after 500+ chapters...

Definitely my favourite series of all time. If you ever get the chance to, do try to pick it up again!

Yup, only one chapter left. sinnatious May 6 2010, 12:39:30 UTC
Pro trip: Best not to tell the author you've been hoarding chapters until the last chapter is finally out, lest she decides to be cruel and holds it back until your resolve breaks! ;) (I'm kidding. Or am I?)
