I had a pretty bad surprise this morning -- I may have to pointlessly delay starting my dissertation for a semester while I wait to retake the Spanish translation exam -- but I think I'm just about over it. I really cannot overstate the importance of ramen and grape soda for my mental well-being.

\o/ I'm really excited about it, because these kinds of challenges force me to actually do the writing. I'll be teaching a summer course at the same time, but it's just the one, so I should be able to time manage.

I saw you signed up -- do you have a plan for what you're writing yet? I already wrote a thousand words of it, because I am ridiculous, but I know we're technically not supposed to be writing yet.

Exactly. I have so many genderswap ideas that I would love to write, but I have this tendency to never give them the time and attention I really want to.

I'm not sure. I was planning on doing the girl!Panic!GSF that I've been wanting to write for quite some time, but I've been floating a boy!Ashlee fic the past couple days that could be very, very interesting.

I'm really terrible with languages, unfortunately. I was pretty sure I'd done a passable job on this one, but I must have cocked up the verbs or something. It might end up screwing me over, but such is grad school. I think these kinds of mishaps are pretty much required at least once during my time in school.

I'm pretty excited about getting back to writing. All this energy I've been devoting to Learning The Nineteenth Century! It's going straight to Porn!

See, I think you're the number one person I would want to do that, because you're actually cool and know shit about music. I keep looking at the story and being like, "NO ONE WOULD WANT TO MIX FOR THIS, FUCK." I think you could do it, though.

Lady Travis! I have been wanting to write this story for a while, ever since rossetti mentioned it to me, and I think this will finally be the push I need to actually do it.
