It can be really triggering for those of us with eating disorders, etc. to see food logs - they're so intimately tied with food-obsessive behaviors that it can be dangerous territory.
There aren't many things I cut, for exactly the reason you mention, but as someone who is still working through my food issues, I can understand why a log would be upsetting!
I accept what you say, while not understanding it - in the same way that you can explain "blue" to someone blind for birth without them understanding blue-ness! (he says, mangling things horribly!)
It's okay - when you spend a decade or more of your life obsessing about every bite of food you take (and hating/loving yourself accordingly), it's hard NOT to find it triggering.
