I feel like I used to jet-set all the time, but next month I'm taking the first real "vacation" I can remember in a long, long time. Even if it is just a long weekend (Thurs-Sun).

Anyway, I'll be in Washington DC February 21st-24th.

You know, I've been thinking about it and I'm fairly certain no reasonable person would want anything to do with the Presidency, so now I wonder what it says about the people that do want it. Anyway...

I've sort of disowned my digital camera. If I see something neat and I'm able to get a show of it with my cell, it's all good. Although I won't be doing a great amount of seeing the sites. At least not the typical ones.

And are you a fan of the cupcakes? If so, you need to stop into Cakelove. I promise you'll be very glad you did. Where are you staying?

I'm going down to visit... well, I guess we can call her my lady. She's working for a year down there with Americorps and she's around "Brookland". Is Cakelove near there?

It's easy enough to get to their U Street location from there. Oh, and they just opened Love Cafe at U Street, which would be great for a little romantic morning coffee date. Or if you happen to decide to head up to Silver Spring or down into Shirlington, they're there, too. If you've ever seen Sugar Rush on Food Network, the chef on that show is the owner of Cakelove.

Looks like it's less than 3 miles away! And I do like coffee. And romance...
