You just wanna cuddle the crap out of Dean, then AND now. I could really feel for him; he's only a kid, and so desperate. Poor guy, doing his best to take care of (or should I say 'mother')Sammy. Loved the turn around with the grocer giving him the box of groceries.
John is going to be realllly curious about that box. Maybe we should hold John down and blister his butt for leaving the boys to themselves so long. Bad John!!!!!
Well written, I enjoy reading your fics.

Thank you so much! Your comment really made me feel good about my fic and my writing. Thanks!

I still am highly amused that having someone be nice is a huge plot twist, but really, for these boys it is.

I really do wonder about John's reaction to the box. Will he be pleased Dean managed to fend for himself? Or will he be angry that he alerted someone that they didn't have enough food, which could have triggered a social services visit? Will he be upset Dean didn't call Pastor Jim? I don't really know. But John, loving as he is, really could use a spanking for how he raised the boys.

Kind of, sort of. I don't want to say I'm taking requests per se because sometimes things inspire me and sometimes things no matter how good an idea just don't. So what I'll say is that fans are encouraged to try to inspire my muse with fic ideas. You never know; I just might write it for you. This story sounded interesting and I told reapertown I might write it, and then somehow plot bunny took over and I was up all night writing it. I have two stories I'm currently working on. Some things write fast, some slow, some not at all. You never know. But encouraging my muse is appreciated and just might get you a story you want.

You have such a knack for writing kids - you simply get their voices right. I loved to see the way Dean's mind worked at this age, and how he made sure that Sammy was kept safe (testing the bread, testing Sammy with the security check at the door) and happy (feeding him so that he wouldn't notice that Dean himself had lived of far less ( ... )

OMG, I'm actually crying here... you just shoehorned me into Little dean's mindset, and took me on the emotional roller-coaster along with him... I genuinely felt his hunger, his terror, and that moment, hang on ( ... )

You may not believe this but this story made me decide to buy a box of nonperishable food every time I go grocery shopping from now on, to add to the donation box at the store. I'll just picture little Dean walking around the store looking for samples and taking the food I donated home to share with Sammy. Thank you.

Aww, thank you. I always donate to the grocery store boxes too. But it is fun to picture a cute little family enjoying it. Thanks for commenting.
