You know, what you could've done was made friends groups...friends that are of age and friends that aren't, so you could lock the adult stories so only the 18+ group could read them. That way you could still keep everyone on your friends list. Just a suggestion, though. ^_^

Ohhhh, thank you! That is such a good idea. I didn't know you could do that. I just about cried when I had to delete you and a couple of other people, because I really like reading your journals. But, I'm so afraid of being banned or somebody's parent stumbling across something they might object to. Thanks for the idea. I'll see if I can get this to work.

I totally understand why you are doing this. I'd be tempted myself, except I have so many underage people on my FL that would basically be like kicking off over a third of my closest friends. (Naruto fandom, you know.) Damn LJ, thanks for nothing. :(

One of my 16 year old friends actually taught me how to get around this problem. You can create custom groups in your friends. So, you can make a group just for your friends that are of age. Then normal posts can be friend locked and open to everyone, but adult posts can be locked to your custom adult-only friends.

Now I still have the problem of deciding if something should be rated 16+ (fanfiction.net appropriate), R, or NC-17, but at least I have a way to only let the appropriate group view what I decide. This delimma always seems to give me fits, though.

Are you in the 16 or 17 year old range, or are you 18 years or older. Also, if you want to be able to read the R and NC-17 stories, you have to leave a statement that you are not offended by adult content stories and that it is legal for you to read them. Sorry, just protecting myself. Make the statement, and I will be happy to add you.
