June 9th | 4 PM | Underground Mall | Let me know if anything needs changing! dancing_pierrot June 8 2011, 12:16:31 UTC
[Franziska usually shopped alone, considering as it was far more efficient than undertaking the endeavor while accompanied, but she was, strangely enough, in no particular rush today, seeing as she already had all she needed for the moment. Besides, she had been known to make exceptions. On occasion. It certainly was no regular thing.

However, she had miscalculated the journey time to her destination by quite a bit, and so she had walked around for a while before finally stopping at the prearranged meeting point near the entrance several minutes before their exact specified time, waiting for her companion to join her.]

Looks fine to me~ deceptive_lulz June 8 2011, 17:53:48 UTC
[Although she had been avoiding the mall for quite a bit of time, since the security breach, Sarina figured that five hours would be more than enough time to pick up everything they needed; or rather she hoped so -- five hours would get so terribly boring. Even if she was used to shopping by herself as well, she actually preferred the company of another on these kinds of trips; it kept her more focused and she'd get opinions that she wouldn't normally form on her own.

Her day job held her up a bit, so unfortunately Sarina was a little late to their meeting -- even if it was only by about ten minutes. It didn't seem like a big deal to her, so she tried not to fret over it too badly. Nevertheless, upon spotting Franziska at the entrance, Sarina gave her typical awkward smile as she approached her.]

Hey! Heehee! I wasn't too late, was I?

[While Franziska had always displayed a marked preference for punctuality, she had it in her to understand that many other people could not make it to their meetings precisely on time, as they had never been taught how, or were simply incapable.

At least the other woman had not done it purposefully, by the look of things, and that was enough to calm her nerves. ] Only ten minutes, so overall, it's inconsequential enough.

[She brushed a loose strand of hair behind her ear before continuing.] Were you looking for anything specific today, by the way?

Ah, that's not too bad, then. Heheh. [Or at least not as late as she had been to work, a few times.]

Me? Well, uh... [Maybe a couple of video games, but for some reason Sarina felt like that would be so, so uncool to do in front of Franziska -- like she'd be judged for it, or something.] ...maybe a new pair of shoes? Heehee? I mean, something more for work, since I don't really need them for my regular outfit.

[She gave a shrug of her shoulders, before raising a brow at Franziska.] But it's not that important. Was there anything, in particular, that you needed?

Well, a sturdy pair of shoes always comes in handy. We could certainly look for those. [She fiddles with her hair again.] I was thinking of getting a hair cut, actually.

[This time Sarina paid attention to Franziska's hand as she threaded her hair with it.] Really? Heheh? Well if that's the case, I really should get one too.

[Her own hand reached up to rub at the base of her neck.] It's saf-- eheh --easier to have shorter hair. [beat.] At least that's my opinion.

You really think so? I do suppose it contributes to efficiency, with less time spent in the shower. [Lifting her hand away from her face, she continued.]

Well, it seems that we have several things on the agenda already for today, so we might as well start on them for now.

It's less of a hazard in combat too! Heheh! There's less of a chance -- if you have short hair -- that your enemy will grab it and put you at a disadvantage!

[Realizing that she wasn't exactly talking to another fighter though, she glanced away awkwardly.]

Right...shall we get our hair done first?

[Franziska, on the other hand, finds herself curious, especially considering the events of the day prior, but knows now that it's better not to push the subject for the moment. There would be time for curiosity once they had started on the day's activities.]

That sounds like a plan.

[Sarina started to walk off toward the salon she usually went to, but stopped abruptly. Oh right, she was actually with someone this time.]

Oh! Eheheh...is there somewhere you usually go? I typically go for the cheaper place over by the department store over there.

I haven't had a haircut since I arrived here, actually. [In fact, she'd not let her hair get anywhere near this long since she was fifteen.] So wherever you have in mind is fine. [While she'd usually prefer something a little more upscale, she was on a budget.] Well. I'll take a look at it, in any case.

[Sarina had to save up money for bills...and ammunition. Don't worry, Franziska, she's got you covered on the budget aspect.]

All right, heehee -- right this way, then.

[She gave a sweet sort of smile, before heading off in the direction she was going in before. After a few moments, it felt rather awkward not saying anything, so she arced her head back.]

Why didn't you get it cut before? Heheh? Trying to grow it out or were you busy with other things?

Busy, really. I was working long hours and now ... well, circumstances are different now. [She said it as airily as she could, with a casual shrug of the shoulders as though her current lack of confirmed future employment wasn't that much of a big deal. The negotiations with SPU would pull through; of that, she was certain now.] And you know this city -- there's very nearly almost never a dull moment -- as soon as there is even the promise of such an occurrence, something else happens.

And to think as a child I thought Los Angeles was a sufficiently sized mess.

Different how? Eheheh? Did you find a way to get a hold of some free time? [She blinked once, before glancing up at the ceiling thoughtfully.] I would say that's a good thing, since a lot of people seem to be stressing themselves out -- heheh -- but I never really know what to do with free time myself.

[Sarina flickered her eyes back to Franziska's face (but not the eyes; she rarely ever looked at anyone directly in the eyes) with a faint smile.] At the very least, you don't get too bored here.

[She paused for a moment, before continuing.] I never visited Los Angeles...you didn't like it there?

[She wanted to argue that the nights were frequently boring, as there was little that she could do during them, but it was perhaps for the best not to bring that up right now. Wrinkling her nose slightly before speaking, she answered:]

It's America, so it was rather typical of a large American city. Although working there was interesting, to an extent. More varied than the type of work I had back home.

I'll bet -- heehee -- Hollywood is part of Los Angeles, right? I'd think there would be all sorts of interesting types there...lots of stories to hear.

[Because if there was one thing she liked about the Port, it was all of the tales she heard from everyone.]

What did you do there?
