[Vampires. She'd once willingly walked into the seethe. Once, she'd unwillingly walked into the seethe, having no other choice. She dealt with Stephan on a daily basis when his van needed repairs, and had even bought him that ridiculous Scooby Doo.

But this was different. The music hurt her sensitive ears but she didn't care. She wanted to see this place for herself. So, she stepped into the club, even though it made her want to curl her lip and have four feet instead of two.

Gabriel would forgive her for cheating on Purgatory. She hoped.]

The seethe was run by Marsilia. She probably still wants me dead.

[This livestock was at least voluntary. She finally stands on her tiptoes and finds Eric Northman through the crowd.]

I wouldn't call him Master just yet. He's still new.

[Elaine gives a wry chuckle.]

Maybe I should say, "Master in his own mind."

[Mercy smirks.]

He's certainly a charmer to talk to. He's one I think you'd have to remind yourself is a vampire. Unfortunately.

[She waves her glass to indicate the club.]

And at least he's master here. Or so it seems, for now.

That he is... [Elaine shakes her head. If he kept trying to charm her, Harry was going to have his head.] That he is.

[Her glass stops half way to her mouth...]

[Have a wicked twinkle in her eye. Now she's going to enjoy herself.]

[She gives an almost nervous laugh]

Seems the viking has a thing for blondes.

This is another 'blondes have more fun' thing isn't it.

[Mercy sighs heavily.]

Obviously, the only solution is to get drunk. Bartender! Fill me up.

[With... diet coke.]

[Elaine laughs, rolling her eyes. If Mercy's drink of choice was a virgin Captain Coke, they might as well order a couple of pints...of Ben & Jerry's!]

Seriously, if you want him, he's all yours.

What I think is irrelevant. Obviously, you're the one with the vampire problem.

[Mercy's not into ice cream. Delicate digestive system and all that.]

Oh no. I wouldn't dream. Besides, that's just asking for more trouble than it's worth in my book.

Obviously. I just can't seem to avoid attracting danger, whether I like it or not.

So far, he's been relatively respectful.

That's the problem with vampires. They can be respectful and then they're manipulating you and you're feeding them without even realizing.

I get the impression he'd rather break down my resistance by courting me the old fashioned way.

[An arched eyebrow.]

The one time we spoke, I got the impression he was a lot older than he let on. Old fashioned could include conking over the head and dragging back to the cave.

It very well could. But then, our good friend Harry was born in the current century, and he's only slightly more evolved.

I've always found him to be a perfect gentleman.
