Tower Apartments Event!
Hello All,
This is your friendly neighborhood mod team informing you that there will be utter chaos and destruction.
Okay, not really.
But there is an event, beginning on the 15th.
At about 5 o'clock on the evening of the fifteenth, there will be an explosion at the tower apartments. The explosion will cause some rather massive damage.
-The destruction of tower two, it's structural integrity will be severely compromised, mostly destroyed, and the tower will be considered unlivable.
-Tower one will suffer some obvious damage, and charges will be found in the elevators.
-The Garage will basically be reduced to rubble
-The power and water for tower one and the greeters station will be offline until they can reinstate it as it is run from inside the building.
-The landlord's office and the Greeter's station will both be damaged, though salvageable.
The apartments listed in red will be either damaged or destroyed, it's likely that the characters in those apartments could be killed or injured.
There are fire escapes, and internal stairs, though both may have damage depending on if they're near the apartments marked in red.
The SPPD and the SPFD will arrive on the scene by 5:15, though a majority will leave by the time of the sirens, due to the high level of danger. Anyone who wishes to assist with the evacuation or helping with the rescue effort should be wary of the fact that all darkness proofing in the building will be down. So, on top of fires and a lack of structural integrity, the darkness will be able to get at both the victims and the rescue teams.
What this means for players:
There will be a log for player interactions, along with more information on the actual bombing, on the fifteenth. Feel free to plan ahead in this post!
If your character wants to set up a safe house, like the Newcomer Community Center, for characters evacuated from the bombing, and the rescue teams, then say so in the post below so people can join in.
Anyone with precognitive characters should contact the modem for what they can sense or leave a note on the page so we can get to you.
If you plan on killing or severely injuring your character, please say so below so it can end up in the official news count. Also, anything planned that is particularly newsworthy can go in that thread, too.
Any greeters who wish to be on duty at the time of the explosion should give us a heads up.
This will mean that the tower apartments will be uninhabitable for a short while, and under repairs for quite a while after, so characters will be unable to enter the apartments again, unless they are a part of the investigation or clean up, until the 20th.
More information will be given as time goes on, and the plot continues!
