[ The camera turns on to show a bird's-eye-view of the city, capturing it in all of its decadent glory. For those of you who recognize the place, the camera is mostly focused on the area where the Lux is standing, though it'd be hard to tell unless you were really paying attention. And squinting. Lucifer is, after all, hovering a mile or so above ( Read more... )

You're Gabriel's brother?

[Mercy looks confused.]

I thought the other Lucifer was his brother.

The multiverse is a strange place.

You'll have to forgive me if I find it merely frustratingly confusing.

It is irrelevant. Know only that we are the same, but different.

Can you explain how that works?

I could. Do you have the presence of mind to listen?

I wouldn't have asked if I didn't. I don't believe in wasting people's time.

[Especially when it comes to ANGELS. It's a thing with her.]

There are some who would presume to ask, only to turn about on their heel and plug their ears. I would not begrudge you for it.

We are the same in that, most likely, we share the same history, name, and place in Creation. The events that led up to the Fall may be different, and his ruling of Hell may have gone differently, but, in the end, he is as much the being named Lucifer as I.

The difference is, as they say, in the details. We obviously have different methods for getting things done.

I am over-simplifying it, of course, but that is the general way of things.

I gathered you weren't going to be giving me the entirety of the truth. I have... faith to fill in the rest.

What an odd turn of phrase.

Do you believe I have cause to lie to you?

vw_coyote May 28 2011, 21:54:21 UTC
No. And I didn't mean to imply that. My apologies if you took it that way.

I did not, but it is always refreshing to hear honesty from a mortal.

What's the point of lying? It just complicates matters.
