[The background is all books, and the video feed is facing Tyrell side on as he blearily rubs his eyes and sits upright in his chair. The burly warrior might look a bit out of place sitting in the library in his fighting garb, but it’s where he’s been mostly holed up recently - his friends back home probably wouldn’t recognize him now ( Read more... )

I used to know two guys like that who knew lots of stuff about everything -- even stuff you couldn't find in any books. But they aren't here in Siren's Port.

Anyway, c'mon, I wouldn't give up hope of going home just yet! Who knows- somebody could find a way home any day now. You just gotta have a little faith!

Aren't there people who've been here for years, though? If they haven't figured out, well ... [A shrug. He was going to say 'what hopes do people like me have', but he'd voiced enough negative thoughts today that he was already imagining his friends back home berating him in his head.]

.. well. The reason I'm looking for such a guy is that I knew one like that back home. Well, friend of my parents, more like. He really came through for us at a time when we needed him most, though.

Hmm... that's true, but... think of all the new people who showed up! One of those guys have got to be smart enough to cook up a good plan, right?

But why them and not all the other people who've turned up before? Or maybe that's the reason why people really disappear...

[Sora blinks. And then leans in.]

You know... that theory makes a lot of sense...

[Naturally, if you figured out a way off of Siren's Port, most people wouldn't be motivated to stick around.]

But if that's the case, you should definitely cheer up! I've disappeared twice from here.

If I can figure it out, you could too!

Wait, you mean you've left and come back twice already? It really does work like that?

Maybe... only, I don't remember how I did it the first two times. Sorry.

You don't remember anything? Anything at all?

Sometimes, Siren's Port likes to take away memories of your time here.

Sure wish I could remember. A lot of those memories were of the friends I made here...

... Do they remember you?

[He nods.] Mostly.

Too bad your friend's not here. He sounds like a pretty smart guy. Wouldn't want him in danger or anything, but maybe he could figure out a thing or two about the Core and stuff.

Oh yeah, he knows everything about everything. And I wouldn't worry too much about him, even if he was here. Even though he doesn't have Psynergy -- er, magic -- of his own, he's managed to help save the world several times now. Pretty remarkable guy, if a bit annoying at times...

Geeze, this guy sounds really knows what he's talking about, huh?

[But more than that, it sounds like Tyrell's got a really cool story to tell. Sora's all ears, even leaning closer to the NV.]

So how'd he save the world all those times?

Well, he accompanied the original Warriors of Vale -- that is, my Dad and his friends, back when they were kids -- when they had to save the world from crumbling away into nothing. It's ... [ a slightly sheepish grin ] a long story.

Long story, but a good one! World-saving stories always are.

You must be really proud-- having your dad and your friend team up like that.

Well, all of this happened way before I was born, so... I kinda grew up with it, you know? I just never imagined I'd be going on my own journey to save the world when I was even younger than he was on his!
