That man is the The same man who spent the entire time I knew him deriding my every accomplishment, telling me I was inferior to my precious brother, that I'd never be even his equal! The same man that left me to rot for four years in that wretched cell, despite being more than capable of rescuing me when my own government wouldn't! I hate him with every fibre in my being.

With that in mind, you're in the perfect position to make it so that none of that will ever happen. We don't know how drastically our futures will change when we get back home. Maybe now that he knows who you are, none of those things will ever happen to you and you'll live a better life because of it.

Changing the past is something that only exists in science fiction novels; if you remove the reason for having changed the past, you will have no reason to have gone back and changed it to begin with. A time paradox, in short.
