The cyborg stepped immediately to the door, armed and ready to defend the area from intruders. Beneath its faceless helmet, however, Shikamaru was silently seething. Imprisoned within this robotic body, he'd borne witness to everything Szayel had done over the course of the month to prepare for this day, and he could only imagine what kind of bloodshed was going on outside this room. Shikamaru couldn't do anything to stop it, though... so while the body obeyed, the mind was busy at work. Observing. Analyzing. He wouldn't waste this opportunity to learn all that he could about Szayel, and someday the Arrancar would regret doing all of this.

Szayel's plans were soon to be disrupted; Uryuu was going to see to that.

His blood was running so hot with rage that he didn't even feel the cold of the blizzard on the way over. He flashed his Internship I.D. to the front desk, his muscles trembling with the effort it took not to simply flash through the rest of the building. The guard waved him through - he was the only one in the lobby, and didn't look particularly impressed to be stuck here during the blizzard. He did turn a questioning look on the girl behind Uryuu, but the Quincy passed him a faked note from Szayel. "She's helping with research."

In SERO, that typically meant she was the subject. The guard nodded and let the two pass into the darkened building. Most of the scientists had come home in anticipation of the storm.

"...Can you hear him?" Uryuu's voice was quiet and full of anger; Nill had told him that she'd heard Shikamaru's thoughts, confirming the worst - he was being held by Szayel.

The funny thing about pretending to be a future science experiment is that Nill had the memories of doing it before. She was certain they were meant to be the 'fake' memories, but she could play off them regardless; she stays close enough to Uryuu to show that she's with him, perhaps by force, and never once looks up from keeping her view on the ground.

It's easy to look like a science experiment too, what with her wings. If necessary then she could create gaps in the memories of whoever saw her and Ishida later, and all would be well. It was only now that mattered.

"Yes." There's a similar tone in the voice that she reaches out with, although Nill is trying to keep it carefully blank. Trying not to show just how much she wants Szayel to pay for this, because he so deserves to.

Not today, though. Today wasn't about that. But someday, she'd be sure that he did. "Shika's watching his surroundings."

"He's further inside. But there are few enough people here that it should be fine. Should I let him know we're here?"

"No. He'll know soon enough, and I don't want to risk tipping off Szayel any sooner than we have to."

He could feel the Espada, he realized as they went further into the compound. SERO must have sent a majority of its Voids away due to the weather as well, or perhaps Szayel had done it intentionally...?

Either way, sensing reiatsu meant they were going to tip their hand soon, whether Shikamaru was alerted or not. He had to move quickly.

"Hold on." Uryuu turned and suddenly slipped his arms around Nill, drawing the small, slight girl to his chest. The world blurred around them in a god-step.

Nill nodded in return, and doesn't say anything else on the matter. Part of her was a little more than certain, from what she could glean of Shika's situation, that he wouldn't be able to tell Szayel they were coming even if he wanted to.

But she doesn't really want to tell Uryuu that, so she keeps it to herself.

Despite herself, Nill instantly went rigid the moment that Uryuu grabbed her; but she knew better than to push him away, so she stays near, shutting her eyes. She couldn't keep up with this sort of movement, so it was easier to just watch it through Uryuu's eyes.

"Szayel is there with him."
