Sometimes I don't know if making a decent breakfast for myself is worth it. I think it took me about 40 minutes to make coffee, fry toast (I don't have a toaster so I fry it), saute onions, mushrooms and ham, scramble eggs, add cream cheese and make that into an omlette. I have to do each thing at a timeBy the time the omlette is done my coffee ( Read more... )

You need a convection or toaster oven.

I have a convection/toaster oven in my kitchen. I love it to pieces. It's like this one, but white, alas.

Mmmm your breakfast kicks my breakfast's ass. Suddenly what I thought was a satisfying breakfast (pommegranate the size of a honeydew!!!) sounds so sad, lonely and pathetic. If my breakfast was a person they would be so clingy and needy where as yours would be a total stud.

haha, no, your perfect breakfast is the breakfast of champions. champion deer and gazelles and the like. Mine is the breakfast of champignons. We will have to discuss this over champagne one day. btw, what kind of shampoo do you use?

Did you really just ask me what shampoo I use?

Um, I use a shampoo called "I Love Juicy" that smells like tons of fruit, then I use a conditioner called "American Cream" that smells like vanilla. Sometimes the hair smells so good I want to eat it, but that would be weird.

i know what you mean... it's such a catch 22, cooking for oneself! you love the creative and delicious accomplishment, but the mess! the leftovers! hard to justify sometimes.

as for toasters, let me recommend the affordable (and adorable!) hello kitty model. available at yr friendly neighborhood target or sanrio stores.

i had another cooking class this week, with erika and some work friends. we made 7 soups. well... i made 2. we separated into soup-making groups. anyhow, next time we're together i'm making you watercress soup. good. lord. so yummy.

very true. except that I was unemployed for a month and lost all track of a sense of "weekend", and now I have a part time retail job in which I have to work on Saturdays and Sundays, so I will certainly take my time on my Tuesday and Wednesday off ;)
