I don't know what's been going on with the non-posting mode I've been in. I have perused your posts and commented here and there but haven't taken the time to put together a coherent sentence of two of my own. I've been using some of the spare time continuing on the basement renovation. All the recessed lighting for the main space is in and wired. ( Read more... )

Winter's coming

The end of November meant the weekend to get ready for winter. Pulled the battery from the bike to trickle charge in the basement. Drained and put away the garden hose. It was such an enjoyable, relaxing Thanksgiving Day for us. I spent the morning doing a bit more work on the basement renovation. In the afternoon some relatives arrived with the turkey, veggies, pies... lots of good stuff. We supplied the rest and a fat time was had by all. What a cool way to celebrate a holiday... Good morning! and it's snowing, coming down fairly heavily but since the thermometer reports 34F, I'm not afraid and wishing I'd gone to buy a load of groceries. Not supposed to amount to too much but it is definitely becoming a layer on the ground, roofs, and cars... so who knows. We're in the middle of a plumbing crisis here. Maybe not a crisis but certainly an inconvenience. We had a new garbage disposal installed in the kitchen sink. All went well with that but we wanted to replace the tub drain assembly in the bathroom while we had the plumber here. I seem to be rushing all the time lately. Right now I should be having breakfast so I can rush out the door. But first... here's the completed frame floating around the triptych from a few months ago. I think the project looks more "complete" with the frame.
