I wonder if I will ever do a public entry on this journal again. The problem is that I write half an entry, get interrupted, and don't get back to it for a week, at which point it is not apt any more. Oh well.

Yesterday I finished my second full Elizabeth Goudge novel, The Scent of Water. It was beautiful, beautiful, beautiful. Less epic than Green Dolphin Street, and set in the author's own time, but no less gorgeous in style, characters, everything! -
Books
Sam got me At the Sign of the Green Dolphin from the library a few weeks ago, and I have been slowly reading through it. It is an anthology of Elizabeth Goudge, who wrote the wonderful, wonderful Green Dolphin Street (which I read last fall). Yesterday was Daniel's second birthday. He celebrated the occasion by showing us some hitherto unsuspected talents. In the morning, out of the blue, he chanted the entire "Little Monkeys Jumping on the Bed" rhyme, complete with rambunctious arm waving and finger wagging ("No more monkeys jumping on the bed!"). Help! I am stuck in a pregnancy fog!
I sent out a message inviting people to our house on Saturday, and somehow remembered to put the time, but not the date! And now silly facebook won't let me send out another message to correct the mistake! -

I have been a little nauseous and having lovely braxton hicks contractions all blessed day. I went to the chiro this morning, which was good, and helped a lot with the aches and pains.
The other good thing is that, for the first time in months, it is significantly under 100 degrees! We even had some rain!

I am so tired I want to die. I had forgotten how horribly uncomfortable late pregnancy is, when all you want to do is sleep, but there is just no way to DO it -- either the back pain or the baby kicking or the swollen feet or the heartburn or the braxton hicks contractions or the hormone-induced hyper anxiety or something will keep you up, up, up ( Read more... ) -

Daniel's new favorite thing to do is take a running start, and then fling himself into my (extremely pregnant) middle. He prefers to do this when I am already at a disadvantage, sitting on the floor, so that there is a chance that he can knock me flat, but any position will do.
